Well, I spoke too soon about Replicraft's second axle assembly.
The first assembly went back because the axle support plates were welded
on at the wrong angle which made the two rear "V" legs have a
measurement of 28" apart. The front legs were at 24" apart which is
correct.
Should have checked the angle of the axle support plates on the second
assembly before I spent $55.00 to have the axle shaft turned down to
1.25. AGAIN!!
The OD of the "raw" piece of tubing is 1.257, which is just enough to
keep the wheel bearings of the Cleveland 5X5's from sliding on the
axle!
So-----After removing the second set of "V's" from the clamps,( sanded,
shaped, and drilled) I mounted them on the axle assembly and found that
the two rear "V" legs were still 28" apart!!!
I CHECKED AND DOUBLE CHECKED!
Steve at Replicraft said he modified his welding jig to correct this
problem but the axle assembly is still wrong!
