Subject: Wings out of Whack

A week ago I proudly completed my first Fly Baby wing and hung it from the
rafters. While marking out the spars on the second, I thought, "better
compare this to the first just to make sure they're identical." Yikes!
turns out my pencil marks didn't line up with the completed wing. A careful
recheck of the completed wing to the plans indicates an incredibly stupid
mistake. Somehow, I managed to measure the 2' 6" distance between the wing
attach fitting and the first compression tube incorrectly. (I measured from
the wrong set of bolt holes) So now I have a wing whose oak bracing wire
pads are 3" farther outboard than they should be.

So here's the dilemma, do I tear the wing apart to make it right, or simply
make the second to match the first? Does anyone know if the internal
geometry of the wings is critical, i.e., will three inches of extra length
from the fuselage to the oak pads make any significant difference?

Regards, Jeff (dumb as a post) Gray
