Subject: BI-FLY BABY

Well gentlemen, I have ordered, and received the 1/16" ply from Wicks,
for the ribs.
OH, BY-THE-WAY, I have found an 8-3/4" carbide tipped circular saw blade
at the local saw shop that cuts a .0625 wide cut.
It cost me $45.00. This blade fits my Craftsman 8" table saw.
This is to slot the rib capstrip for the 1/16" ply.
They call it a "kerfing" blade.
If anyone needs one of these saw blades, let me know.
The spruce is on the way by way of truck freight, bought from Wicks.
They ship very fast.
Steve at Replicraft has taken my order for the fittings.
After studying the plans, I now see that I can use a "sprung" landing
gear. (like the J-3)
Does anyone have a drawing for a sprung L/G, using bungies, for the Fly
Baby or similar?
I will need the flexibility of a bungie L/G using these 5X5 wheels and
tires.
I am also considering covering the leading edge "D" with 1/16" ply.
One last thought I have pertains to the center section "N" strut rear
attach at Fuse.
These slide into the slots and replace the landing wire terminal on the
monoplane.
I would like to do away with the turnbuckle. (no landing wires attach
here on the biplane, so there will be no pulling force on the fuse. as
on monoplane)
Thought I might drill 2 holes vertically thru the strut attach and
aluminum "slide" spacers,---(FIG 1-20)--- tap threads in the lower slide
and bolt together with AN4H-11A 's.
All thoughts or "ideas" on these mods will be greatly appreciated!
Last, but not least, all the monoplane parts have been sold.
Sincerely,
Steve
