Hi Gang: I am on the verge of completing my rudder, but I have a problem. Pete does not specify what to use for the bottom end blocks and the top end gussets. I was going to use 1/2" red oak for the blocks (which I used for the rudder post reinforcement) and 1/8" ply for the gussets...but the 1/2" oak does not appear to be thick enough.
