I agree, and hence why I'm still refining the 1930s design I mentioned.
However, I do like the "modernized" scheme, but only time will tell.

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, but in the meantime I tend to lean 
towards the closed cowl.

No argument there, and I also think the comments posted by Ron are valid, 
but...

Great job. I will provide a link to your drawings from my "Designs" page. I 
think they are great!

Yes, everybody seems to like those photos a lot. The guy certainly did a
